If you'd like to know more, check out all of the .Job DescriptionThe Niagara University College of Arts and Sciences Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin August 2025. The Department offers undergraduate degrees in Biology and Biotechnology and supports interdisciplinary undergraduate programs in Environmental Science, Nursing, and Public Health. We seek applicants with research and teaching interests in the area of human biology. Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and the development of an active undergraduate research program.The hired candidate will teach 9 credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters, develop an active research program with undergraduate students, publish their research findings, and engage in service to both the department and university. Teaching responsibilities include participation in a team-taught introductory biology course, a sophomore-level laboratory course such as genetics, cell biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology, and advanced courses in the area of the applicant's interest. We seek applicants who are interested in fostering rigorous, inclusive, and high-impact learning environments.Niagara University has made a significant commitment to science education and research as evidenced by the research infrastructure available at B. Thomas Golisano Center for Integrated Sciences. Start-up funds are available. Niagara University also offers institutional support with competitive internal grants, additional summer salary funding, and assistance with applying for external funding.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent in an area of human biology such as developmental biology, endocrinology, human disease, immunology, physiology, cancer biology, neurosciences, pathology, and/or related fields.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to use technology to support instruction.
  • An understanding and commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-doctoral experience in teaching and/or research is desirable.
  • Interest and/or experience in the public health field.
  • Experience supporting research training for undergraduates.
  • Interest in supporting public health minor initiatives
