Our students learn how various factors affect the health of individuals and communities. Our professional programs are founded in the liberal arts as well as the physical and behavioral sciences. With over 1,200 students, we offer accredited programs in Health Administration, Public Health, and Radiologic Sciences.The department of Health Sciences at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in the Health Administration program at the rank of Assistant Professor.The successful candidate will teach and have research interests in healthcare finance, economics, data analytics, or informatics. Based on program needs, other potential areas include: operations, organization behavior, strategic planning, policy, ethics, or other healthcare administration related areas.In addition to teaching, the position requires weekly office hours, attending faculty meetings, participation in assessment of student learning, and service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate may be required to teach on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and/or online.Required Qualifications:Doctoral degree in healthcare administration, health services research, healthcare management, business administration, health policy or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Candidates in the process of completing a Doctoral degree will be considered, but degree must be conferred before August 20, 2025.College or University-level teaching experience or potential to teach in-person, hybrid, and/or online courses.Preferred Qualifications:Experience creating an inclusive, student-centered learning environment for a diverse student body.Research experience that includes adopting inclusive approaches to mentoring.An active or demonstrated potential of publication in peer-reviewed publications in the field.Evidence of institutional service or potential for service to the program, department, college or university.Engagement in professional organizations, editorial boards, or community service related to health administration.Demonstrated leadership or administrative experience in academic or professional settings.Work experience in healthcare administration or management.Certification and/or additional training in healthcare finance, economics, data analytics, or informatics.Application Deadline:Preferred application deadline is October 21st, 2024, and applications received after this date may be considered on an as needed basis.
