Summary of Position
Teach coursework directly related to forensic science and crime scene investigation at the undergraduate and graduate levels, assist other faculty in organizing and operating a forensic science teaching laboratory, and conduct original research leading to publication in professional journals. Participate in public, community, and university service, promote the development of the Forensic Science program at YSU, and acts as a liaison with the professional forensic science community. Communicate effectively, with appropriate responsiveness, to student needs and willingly commits to professional development. Participate in department and college recruiting activities. Assist in securing Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation (FEPAC) from the AAFS.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None
Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in forensic science or earned doctoral degree in forensic science or a related natural science.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the university level; membership in forensic science professional societies.
