Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual-credit, blended, hyflex, and/or online courses. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, promoting and supporting student extra-curricular activities, participation in the mentor/mentee program, participating in professional development, participating in the faculty evaluation program, working across campus, develop student communication, and problem-solving skills. position reports to the Division Chair of Social & Behavioral Sciences. NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.SELECTION CRITERIA:Knowledge of: 1. Subject matter; 2. Professional Development; 3. Curriculum Development; 4. Trends in teaching/learning as it applies to History; Ability to: 5. Teach at the postsecondary level; 6. Use technology in support of instruction; 7. Evaluate student performance; 8. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work; 8. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; 9. Participate in college committees; 10. Develop student communication and problem-solving skills;WORKING CONDITIONS:Restricted-Sustained posture, for prolonged periods; light lifting, some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in History.Experience: Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience: At least two years of teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
