The Kinesiology Department at the State University of New York at Cortland invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in motor behavior (motor learning/control). Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, research, academic advisement, and service.

Major Responsibilities

Teaching

* Provide instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in motor behavior (motor learning/control)

* Provide instruction in other areas dependent on expertise

* Advise/mentor undergraduate and graduate students

Scholarship

* Implement an active research agenda that leads to nationally/internationally refereed publications and presentations

* Pursue external funding for research

* Direct graduate/undergraduate research projects

Service

* Provide service to the department, university, and professional organizations

Functional and Supervisory Relationships

* Reports to the academic department chair

* Works closely with department faculty

Required Qualifications

* Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or closely related discipline. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with expected completion of doctorate within one year from appointment date.

Preferred Qualifications

* Specialization in motor behavior (motor learning/control)

* Demonstrated experience and evidence of university-level teaching

* Experience in delivering undergraduate and/or graduate coursework in motor behavior (motor learning/motor control)
