Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Assistant Professor of Biology CampusDepartment Biology Full Time, Part Time, AdjunctClassification TitleJob Duties The Biology Department at Saint Peter's University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank Assistant Professor beginning in fall of 2024. The Department of Biology consists of seven full-time faculty members with expertise in genetics, molecular biology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, developmental biology, and ecology. We emphasize small classes and both the University mission and the mission of the Department drive us in all our activities. We are men and women for others and strive to instill this dedication to others in our students.Rank Assistant Professor Tenure InformationDuties and Responsibilities The successful applicant will be expected to teach 12 contact hours each semester. This usually involves four lectures and/or laboratory sections, in the General Biology sequence, natural science courses in our Core Curriculum, and upper- level biology courses in the areas of Cellular Molecular Biology and Genetics. The successful candidate would share a deep commitment to effective teaching, developing and teaching new innovative biology elective courses appropriate to his/her area(s) of expertise, and mentoring students. Displaying a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness and actively promoting diversity and service within the University and beyond is also expected. Active participation in Departmental and University activities, such as contributing to research through publications and extramural funding will be part of the successful candidate's duties. A Ph.D. in Biology with previous teaching experience is required. Candidates with expertise in cellular and molecular biology and/or genetics are encouraged to apply.Salary Range: $62,000 - $65,000Qualification Standards The successful candidate would share a deep commitment to effective teaching, developing and teaching new innovative biology elective courses appropriate to his/her area(s) of expertise, and mentoring students.
