DescriptionSimpson University is actively seeking a full-time Assistant Professor for the Business Department who will be responsible for teaching a range of courses, including Data Sciences & Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Business Information Systems (BIS), and various Business Management courses, starting in the Spring of 2025, pending budgetary approval. We seek candidates who demonstrate creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of the latest technologies in emerging Data Science, AI/CIS/BIS, and Computer Science fields. The successful candidate must possess expertise in cybersecurity, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and business management, and should be capable of effectively instructing students in the areas of data science, AI, networks, databases, websites, and integrated systems.Qualifications:
- A doctorate degree in Data Science, AI/CIS/BIS, Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Data Analytics DBA, or related field is preferred; however, an appropriate master's degree will also be considered and/or commensurate experience.
- Experience with multimedia instruction and related technology is a must.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience in higher education preferred.
- Successful experience with traditional in-person, hybrid, and online instructional modalities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a spirit of enthusiasm and energy needed to interact with a diverse student population.
- Experience with academic advising and degree auditing preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and a knowledge of learning management platforms such as Canvas and other technologies.

Essential Functions:
- Teach twelve (12) hours or three (4-unit) classes each semester.
- Assist with curriculum and program development.
- Advise, audit, and mentor students.
- Hold a minimum of five (5) office hours per week for students.
- Attend department meetings and professional development activities.
- Ensure the timely completion of assessments, grades, and other reports.
