Carmona College of Business (CCB) at Saginaw Valley State University, an AACSB accredited institution, invites applications for a tenure track, full-time appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Economics to start August 25, 2025. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in any applied economics field.The ability to teach and conduct research in agricultural, health, or behavioral economics would be a plus. Well qualified candidates must have the ability and experience to teach a variety of economics courses at the bachelor's and master's levels including Introduction to Economics, Principles of Macroeconomics and/or Microeconomics, Statistics, and Data Analytics. The CCB is committed to excellence in both teaching and research. We provide a rich and nurturing learning environment for our students. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activities commensurate to the requirements of the college's criteria for classification as a scholarly academic (SA).All full-time faculty members in the Scott L. Carmona College of Business are required to teach 12 credits per semester, participate in the college's assurance of learning activities, and engage in scholarship as well as college and university service. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- A Ph.D. in Economics from an AACSB-accredited program, or ABD status in an Economics program at an AACSB-accredited institution with a documented plan for completion by July 31, 2025.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness, or the potential to be effective in the teaching role, in a wide range of economics courses.
- An established scholarly research record or the demonstrated potential for scholarship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Evidence of the ability to teach and conduct research in Agricultural, Health, orBehavioral Economics
- Proficiency in programming languages such as R and Python
- Familiarity with data science methods
