Position Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Professor of Family Science will teach undergraduate courses in the Family Science Program and will have the following responsibilities:
  • Teaching undergraduate students in traditional, online, and experiential learning settings (e.g., classroom instruction, field experience, student research, and service learning projects), including development and coordination of student's internship.
  • Conducting research in candidate's area of expertise and disseminating results through scholarly publications.
  • Providing service that may include participation with one or more of the following: departmental, college, university, community, or civic organizations. Maintain involvement with the appropriate professional organizations or associations.
Required/Preferred QualificationsRequired: Earned doctorate, university teaching experience, and demonstrated ability to teach under graduate courses in the Family Science, including the following:
  • Ph.D. in Family and Child Studies, Marriage and Family, Family Science, or related fields before August 20, 2025, doctoral candidates may be considered if the degree completion will take place in 2025
  • CFLE (Certified Family Life Educator), preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching, research, and scholarship
  • Effective oral, written, eLearning, IT, and interpersonal communication skills
