Position DescriptionThe ten-member Department of Earth and Environmental Systems offers four majors: Geology, Forestry, Natural Resources and the Environment, and Environment and Sustainability, as well as a certificate in Watershed Sciences. The forests, soils, geology, and hydrology of the University's 13,000-acre property are used extensively in teaching and research. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds whose teaching, research, or service will contribute to the culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion in our department and college. Attributes of a Successful CandidateThe successful candidate will teach five courses per year (a laboratory component of a class counts as one course), including a field-based introductory forestry course and one or more courses in silviculture, fire ecology, or forest watershed restoration. Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in forestry, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in teaching with experience in field-based learning
- Ability to drive a 12- 12-passenger van
