Assistant Professor of KinesiologyExternal posting Full-Time, Exempt , FacultyWorkSchedule:BeginningFall 2025. This is a 9-month appointment with Spring/Summer teaching possible.JOBSUMMARY:Teachundergraduate Kinesiology courses, Advise Students, Conduct Collaborative and Independent Research, and Engage in Service. The teaching load may include Theoretical, Practicum, and/or Laboratory classes varying from Introductory to Upper-Division Undergraduate courses within the Degree Programs of Exercise Science, Health Education Physical Education K-12, and Rehabilitative Medicine,with an emphasis on preparing future K-12 Physical Education and Health Educators.MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:Doctoratein Kinesiology or related field with evidence of scholarly activity. (admissioninto a doctoral program will be considered).PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
- Teaching experience in an academic setting, particularly with Health Education and Physical Education to prepare K-12 Educators
- Involvement with professional organizations within Kinesiology, particularly with the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).
- Experience mentoring undergraduate students.
- Demonstrated experience in Program Assessment, Curriculum Development, and alignment with State and National standards, particularly in Health and Physical Education.
- Advanced credentials, particularly American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification, National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS), and Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), preferred but not required.
