Area of specialization: Social/Political/Legal Philosophy. Areas of competence: Open. We are especially interested in candidates willing to teach sections of Political Philosophy , Global Justice , Philosophy of International Relations: Law, War, and Peace , and Philosophy of Law as well as introductory classes. Interest in supporting the Oakland University Ethics Bowl Team as part of an assigned course and/or teaching interests in history of philosophy welcome. Candidates must demonstrate experience with, and a commitment to, diversity and inclusion.Minimum Qualifications PhD in Philosophy by August 15, 2025 is required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.Special Instructions to Applicants Candidates will provide a Diversity Statement that describes their interest or efforts in furthering diversity and inclusion, e.g., through mentoring, pedagogy, activism, faculty recruitment/retention, or research on issues related to diversity and social inequality.
