The Section of Infectious Diseases, Dept. of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) seeks to recruit a new faculty to the Clinician or Clinician Educator pathways at the Assistant Professor rank who will focus their efforts on the care of patients with HIV/AIDS.
The successful candidate will show strong potential for academic advancement in accord with current College of Medicine criteria. S/he must have a MD/DO degree, be ABIM BC/BE in Infectious Diseases and licensable to practice in the State of Oklahoma. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with experience and training in infection prevention.
Along with the 9 faculty members in the Infectious Diseases Section S/he will engage in the three major missions of the College of Medicine: Education, Patient care, and Scholarship.
Educational responsibilities may include teaching first and second year medical student courses, precepting and supervising trainees at all levels, e.g. medical students, residents, and fellows on inpatient and outpatient services. Educational responsibilities also include participation in Departmental and Section level teaching forums e.g. medical grand rounds, resident lectures, journal clubs, research and clinical conferences. Patient care activities will be conducted at the Ryan White-funded Infectious Diseases clinic and Oklahoma City County Health Department outpatient clinics and the OU Medical Center hospital.
