Assistant Professor in Landscape ArchitectureThe Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning (LARCP) in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign) at Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, is seeking qualified candidates to teach design studios and courses in the department related to socio-ecological systems as a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We're specifically seeking candidates with expertise in GIS, GeoDesign, and spatial analysis.The successful candidate will:
  • Deliver creative and effective teaching in courses related to socio-ecological systems and GIS.
  • Engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities.
  • Supervise independent graduate research.
  • Participate in university and professional service.
  • Contribute to an environment that fosters diversity and collegiality.What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Master's degree in landscape architecture or a closely allied field. Candidate must have at least one degree in landscape architecture.
  • Evidence of ability to deliver inspired teaching.
  • Evidence of or potential for research, scholarship, and/or creative activity with a focused agenda.
  • Professional, pedagogical, or scholarly experience in socio-ecological systems and GIS.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. (or ABD) in landscape architecture or closely allied field.
  • Professional licensure.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels.
  • Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills.
