Summary:We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Tempe office to assist our senior project managers oversee and administer engineering projects from inception through the completion of commissioning. You will be on the front lines, assisting with project scoping and quality control, organizing and aligning our design team, coordinating with clients and contractors, and overseeing schedules and budgets. You will work with a competent multi-discipline team of engineers and administrative staff with a wide range of experience levels. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new office serving industry leaders. Responsibilities: Assistance with scoping engineering projects and writing initial fee proposals. Under the direction of our senior project managers, assist in running and preparing notes for client and team meetings. Includes leading discussions with design team members to ensure the project is on track and identifying roadblocks and potential solutions to project issues. Engineering disciplines being managed include structural, mechanical, process, and electrical. Oversee and update project task lists, budgets, and schedules. Perform multi-discipline general quality control reviews of the firm's engineering studies and construction documents. Participate in project contractual and design discussions with clients regarding such topics as engineering issues and solutions, information needs, budget, schedule, and staffing. Write and process design scope change orders. Administer and process requests for information and product submittals during the project construction phase. Manage closeout documents, such as O&M manual review and submission of record drawings. Job Requirements General understanding of engineering fundamentals. Excellent communicator and team player. Must be able to relate well both to internal staff and to customers. Solid technical writing skills, with experience developing and documenting processes for an engineering team. Solid relationship builder, capable of comprehending and listening to customer feedback, with consistent follow-through on commitments. Ability to lead a team. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and thorough with experience in quality control review of documents. Dedication and commitment; results oriented. Ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts, especially related to engineering and construction. Proficiency with Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Education and Experience: AS or equivalent degree from an accredited university, preferably in architecture or engineering. 2+ years of experience performing project and client management for an engineering firm.Please identify any relevant skills you might have, such as project management certification, or software skills such as MS Project, Quickbase, AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
