We offer a generous benefits package for eligible employees, and lots of room for career growth.ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER: Manage multiple projects with combined construction value of approximately $50 million.These projects must be managed simultaneously and will be in different phases of project life cycle (design, procurement, construction, and close-out). Project scopes will involve a variety of work categories with emphasis on mechanical installations (underground piping, heating, gas risers and other mechanical projects).The selected APM will work with the assigned PM. The selected APM will report to assigned Project Manager and NYCHA Deputy Director.Start Date, Duration & Terms of Assignment: The selected candidate must be available to start as soon as possible since this is an urgent position that NYCHA is looking to fill.The duration of this assignment will be at minimum of twelve (12) months with a potential extension of up to one year. This is a full-time in-office position along with visits to the various job site locations. Daily working hours will be a minimum of eight (8) hours, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.NYCHA reserves the right to request replacement of any non-performing staff member as deemed necessary by NYCHA.Requirements, qualifications & roles/responsibilities: B.S. in mechanical engineering is strongly preferred for this position.Minimum 5 years' experience with mechanical installation, with emphasis on: gas riser replacement, boilers, residential heating systems (including high-rise buildings), underground utilities including gas piping replacement.Working knowledge and proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Office (Excel & Word), and project management software is a must.Prior experience with NYCHA and working with e-Builder is a plus.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Assist in management or contracts throughout all project phases – design, procurement, construction, and closeout.Monitor job phases to ensure compliance with timelines and all contract deliverables.Assist Project Manager with submissions, sub-contractor approvals process, payments, RFIs, schedules, and other.Coordinate meetings with external and internal stakeholders.Coordinate project schedules with team.Prepare project correspondence, reports and respond to inquiries. Prepare request for bid package.Attend bid openings, advise Project Manager on responsiveness of bidders, and assist in bid comparison.Visit field sites to assist in resolving construction issues as required.Provide bi-weekly updates.Assist PM in review and negotiations for claims, disputes, and change orders.Monitor and maintain projects detail page in e-Builder with due updates.Run reports on regular basis to identify aging processes in e-Builder.Full time in the NYCHA LIC office, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and occasional travel to the job sites required.All candidates must have received full Covid-19 vaccinations.Benefits provided but not limited to the following: MedicalDentalVision401k with 4% matchShort Term and Long-Term DisabilityLife InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO & Sick Time)Company HolidaysGreat company culture that genuinely cares!Autonomy in your roleSounds like you?
