Description Assistant Project Managers are responsible for assisting project managers in the management of multiple construction project sites, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, and will also assist in general project-related administrative duties. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily administration of projects
- Maintains projects in an orderly/organized manner to better ensure a safe and productive worksite
- Manages and schedules manpower, equipment, material delivery, and subcontractors
- Manages all related/required traffic control operations and safety
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and within or below budget
- Manage suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, profit, and scheduling as well as customer satisfaction
- Employs best practices in planning and organizing work to maximize potential crew productivity and equipment utilization levels
- Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
- Follow directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Perform a variety of tasks and duties that may change often as the work conditions require.
- Work within defined standards of accuracy.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions, including temperatures over 85 degrees and below 40 degrees.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil or other) or Construction Management and/or 3+ years of work experience
- Multiple levels of decision-making experience managing construction projects and working with owners and developers.
- Strong computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to administer several tasks independently and concurrently, with ongoing changes in priority
- Team player with self-confidence and professional presence
- High degree of maturity and business judgment
- Ability to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
- Ability to perform frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to see and hear well (naturally or with correction.)
- Ability to travel as requested.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal Department of Defense, government, and/or military construction project experience preferred.
- Strong Viewpoint and HCSS (HeavyBid) software skills
- Experience with construction scheduling programs. Preferably in Primavera P6.
- Previous experience with Concrete Paving
- Experience in managing City/Municipal/Residential road-building projects
- Project Estimating skills
- Documentation of construction safety training
- Experience with daily operations cost track systems
