Job Opportunity: Assistant Project Manager

Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join a dynamic team in the civil infrastructure sector. This position involves working on projects related to FDOT, roadways, and bridges. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and update integrated project plans and schedules to ensure efficient project execution.
- Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for project team approval.
- Assess impacts to critical path and near-critical activities and report findings to the project team.
- Monitor schedule deviations and variances, assisting in the development of corrective actions.
- Prepare periodic schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis.
- Ensure credibility of the schedule information and regularly review schedules with project team members for accuracy.
- Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths.
- Analyze activity sequences for constructability and assess change orders for schedule impacts.
- Resource load schedules as needed and perform job-site walks to verify physical progress.
- Prepare project submittals, draft RFIs, and negotiate contract pricing to stay within budget.
- Manage schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera, including budgeting and cost projections.
- Handle correspondence with owners and engineers and attend progress meetings.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications and communicate effectively in a professional manner.
- Manage deliveries from suppliers and coordinate subcontractor schedules.
- Maintain daily records of installation quantities, equipment hours, and site progress, including meeting with subcontractors and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of construction scheduling experience.
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of the industrial construction process and ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings.
- Knowledge of contract procedures and principles.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to comprehend construction logic and sequencing of complex projects.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred but not required.
