Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Project Manager at Red Rock Contractors and Red Rock Pools and Spas. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for expediting project timelines, managing project logistics, conducting inspections, and assisting with overall project management tasks. An assistant project manager (APM) in construction helps ensure a project's successful completion by supporting the Senior Project Manager and other team members. APMs perform a variety of tasks, including:

  • Project planning and execution: Assist with planning and executing each step of the project
  • Administrative duties: Organize and maintain project documents, update databases, and manage the project budget
  • Scheduling: Set up meetings, phone calls, and site visits
  • Coordination: Coordinate with team members, vendors, clients, and employees
  • Project supervision: Supervise the project scope and budget, and provide on-site administrative support
  • Permit acquisition: Acquire the necessary permits
  • Project updates: Prepare regular updates for the property owner
  • Subcontractor management: Schedule meetings with subcontractors, review submittals, and issue bid award emails
  • Quality control: Assist with field quality control and photo documentation
  • Project closeout: Assist with project closeout
  • Site safety: Perform site safety walks and promote safe work practices
  • Project financials: Assist the project manager with project financials and cost procedures
  • Weekly reporting: Assemble documents to provide to the client weekly, including a weekly report, 3 week lookahead, RFI, submittal logs, site photos, and project schedules

APMs should have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. They should also be proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, Microsoft Project, and other computer software packages.

  • Knowledge of construction industry practices
