Assists the PM or the GM with the overall management of one or more specific construction projects to ensure that the client receives a facility designed, engineered and constructed within the scope of the contracts to meet their needs on time and within budgets. The Assistant Project Manager may be the liaison between Austin and the client and coordinates all aspects of the project including engineering, construction and purchasing as well as accounting and estimating. The Assistant Project Manager also is in a learning mode when dealing with all contractual matters after the engineering and construction contract is signed. This may include processing of change orders, preparing and reviewing the monthly job condition statements and resolving disputes with clients regarding contractual issues. The position will rely heavily on the PM or GM to help build these skills in order to be able to accomplish these tasks autonomously.

* Normally requires a 4-year degree in Engineering or Architecture and typically 10-15 years' experience in design or engineering and/or field construction (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)

* Must be able to travel to and work at the project site, this travel may be up to 100%.

* Occasionally Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.

* Must be able to drive.

* Frequently work in a loud environment.

* Frequently work outdoors in high and low temperatures.

* Occasionally may work in high and/or precarious places.

* Occasionally work indoors.

* Must be able to work around an be in close proximity to heavy machinery.
