Assistant Project Manager - Construction Management FirmLocation: Northern New Jersey Our client, a well-established construction management firm specializing in the commercial, mix-use residential, retail, and hospitality sectors in New Jersey and New York, is seeking a talented Assistant Project Manager to join their team. This role involves working on new construction and renovation fit-outs for mid-rise market rate, low-income, and residential projects, as well as commercial projects across NJ and the five boroughs of New York City. Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in the construction industry
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work in the field and assist with day-to-day operations
  • Knowledge of safety standards and ensuring compliance
  • Experience in managing project budgets
  • Proficiency in creating pre-construction RFP packages
  • Conducting project meetings, setting milestones, and preparing monthly reports for owners
  • Familiarity with project processes such as RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and subcontract change orders
  • Strong project scheduling and logistics management abilities
  • Skilled in project closeout processes
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain fair treatment of subcontractors
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
Additional Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a Project Management role with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
  • Effective resource organization, including people, tools, and time management to meet deadlines and achieve desired results
  • Working knowledge of current market conditions, pricing conventions, and trends
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills with a variety of software packages; experience with Procore is preferred
