Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Overview:The Assistant Purchasing Manager will work with the Procurement Director to oversee the issuing, storage, and rotation of all incoming goods for the Club. Ensures that all goods are received into the Purchasing Computerized System and are logged accordingly. Serves as team leader of Storeroom Clerks to ensure that the storerooms run smoothly and efficiently. Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor/Oversee receiving in the Purchasing/Inventory computer system (Birchstreet).
- Maintain a firm and amicable relationship with vendors' delivery persons and co-workers.
- Ensure all Yale Club policies, internal controls, procedures and safeguards within the Purchasing Department are met.
- Understand and uphold quality standards of the Club.
- Oversee food, beverage, and stock replenishment as required and process purchase orders.
- Ensure that all food and non-food and beverage deliveries coincide with an approved purchase order.
- Inspect food quality at receiving. Anything questionable must be approved by the Executive Chef, Exec Sous Chef, Sous Chef or the Procurement Director.
- Monitor all deliveries and contact originating department for verification and inspection of goods.
- Ensure clerks receiving areas are kept secure, clean and organized.
- Ensure all invoices and/or packing slips are signed & dated.
- Ensure that all Receiving Reports are done daily on a timely basis.
- Update Birch Street and post all invoices into computerized Inventory system and/or Accounts Payable system.
- Assist as necessary with all month-end, quarterly or annual inventories of food, beverage, operating equipment and supplies.
- Supervision of with other Purchasing/Storeroom staff to assure smooth transition of receiving to storage.
- Comply with food hygiene standards at all times.
- Conduct temperature recordings of Food items being received for chilled and frozen food.
- Check shelf life and expiry of food and beverage products and alert the Procurement Director
- Oversee/ Monitor storeroom Clerks with regular cleaning and re-organization of storerooms
- Maintain proper labeling of all storeroom items to facilitate re-ordering and rotation of stocks
- Assist Chef and Sous Chefs with sourcing of new products and placing orders.
- Assist Procurement Director with maintaining Pars in preparing forecasts and budgets.
- Assist Procurement Director in other areas of Food & Beverage when coverage is needed.

NYC Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection required within 30 days of hire.•Previous club or hotel experience a plus. Salary Description $75,000 - $80,000
