We have a new and exciting career opportunity as our Assistant Quarry Superintendent for the New York Region. The position is based out of our Wherle Quarry in Clarence. The salary range for this position starts at $75,000 based on experience. We are seeking an aspiring professional who is looking to embark in a leadership role. The Assistant Superintendent supports the Quarry Superintendents in leading a safe, productive, and efficient aggregate operation to provide the community with quality products. This is a developmental role designed for progression into the Superintendent Position. Assistant Quarry Superintendent - What Will You Do?

  • Assists in managing overall site safety through the training and observation of workforce. Ensures that all safety policies and procedures are being met.
  • Fosters a productive team and promotes a positive work environment through learning leadership practices from Superintendents.
  • Oversees product quality and the overall efficiency of the production plan. This includes achieving production targets.
  • Responsible for executing maintenance plan, which includes scheduled outages, routine and preventative maintenance, and unplanned downtime.
  • Assists with daily production reports, inventory, and critical supplies.
  • Leads daily toolbox talks, JHA meetings, and pre-shift huddles.
  • Assists MSHA and DEP inspectors with site inspections.
  • Supports an orderly appearance of facility and leads 5S initiatives.
  • Maintains positive relations with site neighbors.
Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?
  • Associates Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant discipline preferred. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Three (3) years of relevant experience preferred. Higher level degree may be considered in lieu of experience. Desired experience includes but is not limited to surface aggregate mining, processing and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of drilling and blasting as well as site development.
  • MSHA Part 46 or 48 certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to operate and train others on heavy equipment. Mechanical and maintenance skillset is preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills with the ability to ensure accurate work.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Driver's License and compliant with NESL Driving Standards.
