The Assistant Regional Director of International Advancement assists the Regional Director of International Advancement to serve as an extension of the Regional Vice President (RVP) by facilitating and coordinating all international ministry involvement coming from their U.S. Region. The primary international focus of the Assistant and the Regional Director of International Advancement is the international region that is aligned and assigned to their U.S. region. These positions model the FCA values of Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence in dealing with International Leaders, staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes. Together, the Director and Assistant will be responsible for ensuring international ministry of FCA is conducted according to biblical standards and adheres to the FCA policies and procedures.MINISTERIAL DUTIESThese responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.
- Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
- Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
- Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
- Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
SERVE THE U.S. REGION
- Facilitate and coordinate any international ministry that the U.S. region is involved in.
- Educate and assist in developing the regional staff's heart for the nations.
- Along with their RVP, develop and implement a PRAY/GIVE/GO support plan for their U.S. region in response to the strategic plan delivered by their International Divisional Vice President (IDVP).
- Develop SMART Goals for each area of the Pray/Give/Go support plan using the E3 Methods of ministry -- Engage -- Equip -- Empower.
- Communicate and train the U.S. regional staff on Pray/Give/Go.
PRAYIn Response to the Strategic Plan provided for the International Region:
- Create a regional prayer strategy and calendar, engaging, equipping, and empowering their U.S. regional staff to pray for the international region.
- Pray for the coaches and athletes in the international region.
- Pray for International Leaders who are serving in the international region.
- Pray for sport ministry leaders in the international region by understanding their specific needs.
- Research the International region to understand the history, demographics, and culture.
- Pray that God deepens the heart of the U.S. region for the nations in the international region.
GIVEIn Response to the Strategic Plan Provided for the International Region:
- Host International Leaders in the U.S. region to equip them with the fundamentals of FCA - Vision, Mission, Values, Strategy and Methods.
- Invest financial resources to help grow the ministry in the international region according to the plan.
GOIn Response to the Strategic Plan Provided for the International Region:Help prepare and organize various trips in response to the specific needs of the international region according to their strategic plan:
- Vision Trip -- provides exposure and awareness for U.S. FCA staff and volunteers by listening, learning and discovering from international sports ministry leaders and partners in select locations.
- Training Trip -- helps International Leaders develop and grow a sport or sports ministry by serving them through training, resourcing and encouragement.
- Provide resources -- Bibles, curriculum, camp material, devotions, sports equipment, and other materials.
- Sports Trip -- mobilizes athletes and coaches to serve with international partners in fulfilling the partners' sports ministry vision through sports camps, clinics and competition.
- Reverse Trip -- bringing International Leaders to the U.S. to learn how we do the FCA ministry through modeling and mentoring. Connect International Leaders who are on reverse missions trips with the proper U.S. FCA staff to provide training of the FCA initiatives.
- Identify key leaders in the U.S. Region who can train leaders in the International Region and mobilize ministry.
- Prepare teams before leaving on international trips by utilizing the Go Guide Ensure all international trips (vision trips, training trips, and sports trips) for the Region are certified through the online certification process.
- Help staff utilize the IMPACT internship program as a leadership development program for next generation leaders.
Raise Financial Support and Develop Funding Strategies:
- Raise the personal support needed to fund the Regional Director of International Advancement position.
- Work with RVP and IRVP to evaluate the financial needs of international staff and how the U.S. region can support.
- Build a team of people who care about international ministry who will pray and support.
Help Create Synergy Between the US Region and International Region:
- Cultivate an environment of one mission, one message and one team .
- Utilize the International Office to help create clarity and alignment between the U.S. region and international region.
- Serve on the International Task Force -- meeting once at the SC (December) and monthly on conference calls.
- Be available for conference calls when needed including the monthly International Leaders call.
- Submit an annual report of international ministry activity at the end of the fiscal year, including numbers for trainings, huddles and events.
The primary focus of this Assistant Regional Director of International Advancement position will be in the area of GO -- assisting the Regional Director of International Advancement in equipping the Carolinas and South Asia staff to host and receive their teammates from overseas. The Assistant Regional Director of International Advancement (special emphasis Go ) will assist the RDIA in the following ministry initiatives: - creating a trip training structure for all those traveling from the Carolinas to our International Region of South Asia. - Leading out alongside the Trip Leader all training for teams traveling from South Asia and the Carolinas overseas. - working with our Carolinas and South Asia staff to develop resources for cultural training for staff who will be Going overseas- providing council, planning help and administrative support to our South Asia staff who will be hosting teams from the Carolinas. - Leading trips (when the Lord allows) to countries in our South Asia Region- Providing council, planning help, and administrative support to our International Advancement Team members and RDIA who will be hosting South Asia staff on reverse trips to the Carolinas. - Assist the RDIA in planning large scale International initiatives such as 24 hour Unbroken Prayer and Global Impact Internship in India.- Asset the RDIA in the development of new Go initiatives and possible trips- Attend the monthly RDIA call with the other RDIA's from around the country/world. - Attend the bi-weekly virtual Carolinas Region International team staff meetings. - Attend a monthly prayer call with our South Asia and Carolinas Staff- Attend a bi-monthly call with our South Asia Directors and RDIA
