Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Professional Engineer to be an Assistant Regional Manager in our Boise, Idaho, office. The ideal candidate will assist the Regional Manager with identifying and developing pursuits, personnel management, and the successful execution of projects. The Assistant Regional Manager requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position reports to the Regional Manager of the office. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to their area of expertise.
* Responsible for assisting in the identifying and cultivating of new businesses and clients.
* Assists in ensuring that external client focus is top priority of the region and those systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.
* Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a number of projects.
* Serves as the Technical Specialist.
* Supervises all staff necessary to complete assignments.
* Responsible for proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, project quality, and project profitability.
* Prepares and monitors project budgets.
* Has overall responsibility for the profitability of his/her projects.
* Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding account receivables and collection efforts for his/her projects.
* Serves as Project Manager or Project Engineer on complex projects.
* Supervises and monitors client relationships strategies.
* Will be the primary contact for certain clients.
* Prepares forecasts of workload for assigned staff.
* Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices, receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
* Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
* Be active in technical societies.
* Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
* Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
* Knows how to perform his/her duties safely

Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year university and a minimum of 10 years' experience or the equivalent thereof.
* Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
* Professional Engineer (P.E.) and/or IL Structural Engineer (S.E.)
