Brief Description

The purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate, and oversee construction/maintenance projects, ensuring staff safety, coordination of security oversight on Brazos River Authority (BRA) infrastructure, safe passage of floodwaters, and administration of lake development projects on BRA lakes and lands. This is accomplished by coordinating projects with applicable departments, central office personnel, management, and external vendors/consultants; developing project budgets; performing scheduling and planning functions; coordinating meetings; and managing the overall progress of assigned projects; directing crews who maintain the dam and related facilities; planning, developing, managing, and supervising the dam activities; providing for and maintaining public recreation facilities and BRA infrastructures; developing recreational project budgets; supervising residential/commercial construction permitting and inspections reviewing program goals and objectives; establishing standard operating procedures, work programs, and work requirements; reviewing, administering, and approving applications on program plans; interacting with local, state, and federal agencies; providing oversight on construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of recreational infrastructure, and overseeing code, regulation, and license compliance as they apply to improvements at the lake. Other responsibilities include operations and maintenance of a public use general aviation airport, serving as staff advisor and technical expert to the Reservoir Manager, overseeing authority housing units, interacting with other employees and the public, acting on behalf of the Reservoir Manager in their absence, consideration to reside in BRA Housing, and performing all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum seven years' experience or equivalent combination of education
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and good driving record
  • Preferred: Reside in BRA housing

  • Bachelors Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to earn a Bachelor's degree in the field related to the position and is expected to utilize this level of education during the work day to the benefit of the organization.

STARTING SALARY RANGE: Min: $92,959 to Max: $120,847 annual salary. This is an exempt position.
