Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supervising day-to-day facility operations of the Boss Ice Arena during events and non-event times. The Assistant Manager will assist the Director of Ice Rink with planning and implementation of associated work tasks as well as assist in supervising the part-time staff to ensure that the facility is in excellent working order. This position will have direct responsibilities dealing with event and office management.
This role pays a hourly wage of $24.00

Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily front-of-house operations and staff members.
- Oversees the operation of an in demand Learn to Skate program.
- Assists in the scheduling and marketing of ice time as well as follow-up communication to customers regarding payment schedules.
- Assists in overseeing and supervising game management as needed for all events.
- Manages public relations between customers and rink management.
- Answers inquiries and communicates information regarding programs and facility policy, at times under stressful conditions which may require exceptional independent judgment and discretion.
- Makes financial projections and monitors the finances for Public Programs and Events.
- Assists in coordinating the purchasing needs for the arena, monitoring and tracking usage of all materials, equipment and supplies.
- Assists Director of Ice Rink in project planning and execution as well as working closely with the Operations Manager.
- Positively interacts with all departments, vendors, clients, and guests of the facility to successfully accomplish facility objectives.
- Create and implement training programs for staff members.
- Prepare Office Staff Schedule and Payroll Maintenance.
- Prepare fiscal evaluation summary for Director of Ice Rink, Needs Analysis and Purchase Orders for all projects.
- Serve as Manager-on-Duty when Director of Ice Rink is not in the building which may include oversight of public programs sessions as needed.
- Assists in the general maintenance and cleanliness of the skating center including the lobby, officials room, shower and bath, locker room, bleachers, and other areas as assigned.
- Perform staff duties as needed such as cashiering, collecting admission tickets, booking birthday parties, and group rentals.
- Develop, implement, and oversee Boss Arena marketing plan in conjunction with Ryan Center Marketing Manager.
- Responsible for coordinating Charitable Events initiatives ie. Food drives, Toy Drives, Community Fundraisers.
- Required to drive the Ice Resurfacer (currently a Zamboni) as needed.
Qualifications:
- Two years of supervisory experience is required preferably in the sports and entertainment field.
- College degree is required.
- High level of proficiency in Windows environment with extensive experience in Microsoft applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet strict deadlines as well prioritize accordingly.
- Previous customer service experiences a must.
- Ability to work with all levels of management and in teams.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid drivers license.
- Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours including but not limited to working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours.
