**MSC | Mechanical Service Corporation** is a union service subspecialist in advanced HVACR, process cooling and building automation systems in commercial, industrial and institutional environments. We are currently seeking an experienced **Assistant Service Department Manager** for our busy Whippany, New Jersey office.
Initially, you will serve under the direct guidance of the senior service manager, but this job holds strong potential for promotion to a full managerial position. While prior HVAC experience is preferred, **candidates with service coordination/dispatching/management experience in another commercial service industry are highly encouraged to apply** (electrical, plumbing, maintenance services, etc.).
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Develop and manage daily, weekly and on-call work schedules for union service technicians
* Field incoming calls for service and maintenance
* Coordinate, schedule and manage HVAC service, project work, and preventive maintenance agreement work
* Prioritize jobs accordingly and dispatch field technicians with skills appropriate to the task
* Maintain billable hour/production hour targets
* Review daily service reports and verify that jobs are progressing as required
* Follow up with customers to ensure quality of service and address all issues of concern
**REQUIREMENTS**
* 2+ years of service coordinator, dispatching, and/or managerial experience in HVAC or other commercial service industry
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Advanced multi-tasking capabilities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office
