Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Head Womens Soccer Coach, provides leadership and oversight for all aspects of the NJCAA Division I Womens Soccer Program.The Assistant Coach is a ten-month, part-time position.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in all aspects of coaching basketball including through knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies and player development.

2. Provides leadership for all aspects of womens soccer to ensure a highly successful program.

3. Provides appropriate leadership, direction and supervision relevant to the academic progress.

4. Provides assistance to the Head Coach, womens soccer with activities associated with the program and student-athletes including, but not limited to, recruitment, on-the-field coaching, video work, and community involvement.

5. Serves as a role model to assist the team members in developing and displaying appropriate behavior and sportsmanship expected of athletic teams and individuals representing GSC.

6. Observes athletes during competition and practice to determine the need for individual team improvement.

7. Supports the student-athlete concept and demonstrates concern for the health, safety, and welfare of each student-athlete.

8. Provides reports and information concerning the womens soccer program as required.

9. Supports and monitors academic performance and social development of student athletes.

10. Conducts fund-raising activities.

11. Participates in public relations activities including social media campaigns, newspaper, television, radio interviews and news conferences to promote a positive image of the Athletic Department and the College.

12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Strong communication skills both written and oral.

Ability to organize and clearly document the recruitment process.

Ability to communicate and work effectively with enrolled students, administrators, alumni, and the college community.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred.

Prior experience in intercollegiate athletics as a player or coach preferred.
