Details Posted: 25-Oct-24 Location: Decatur, Illinois Type: Full-time Categories: Coaching Coaching - Soccer POSITION FOCUS The position is integral to the growth of Midstate Soccer Club. A figure head for youth programs, the employee will work closely with the Director to run & organize particular programs, supervise leagues, organize training sessions, oversee coaches whilst providing feedback & evaluations. Employee will also run special events & be involved with the everyday running of the club. SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Soccer Director and the Director of Recreation ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Identify & hire potential MYSL trainers
  • Schedule trainer evaluations for MYSL
  • Observe & evaluate MYSL coaches
  • Work on creating new ways to reach more people through social media
  • Organize/promote additional events such as Goalie Wars & 4v4 tournament
  • Coordinate back end of website to post & set up links for program registration
  • Organize fields for little kritters/mysl
  • Coach summer youth soccer, little kritters & where needed in MYSL
  • Organize curriculum, grouping & ordering uniforms for MYSL
  • Organize & train referees for MYSL
  • Organize volunteers for concessions on MYSL game days
  • Collects data & enters payroll for all coaches (Registrar will do data entry)
  • Coach indoor youth training & potentially indoor club training
  • Recruitment of adult/hs league teams
  • Referee/facilitate youth indoor programs
  • Laundry of pennies/equipment needed for events
  • Organize social events for major soccer events & other soccer courses
  • Help coordinate tryouts
  • Purchase supplies & equipment
  • Help with LK/ & run the MSYL Summer Camp
  • Promote, run & organize 4V4 tournament indoors
  • Organize Chicago Fire/STLFC or other professional outings
  • Supervise adult/hs league games
  • Collecting payment for adult/hs leagues
  • Special events (boys & girls club, south side clinics other community events)
  • Assist or coach club team(s) when needed including specialty or goalie training
  • Attends work on a regular basis
  • Assists customers in a friendly and polite manner
  • Comfortable being in close proximity to people of all ages and genders
  • Completes and submits time sheets for payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment
  • Completes daily inspection and upkeep of facility and equipment
  • Additional functions may be essential
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES
  • Sponsorship for all tournaments
  • Fundraising
  • Work on rec trac system to reserve indoor courts
  • Identify potential MYSL players to join club by utilizing spreadsheet to evaluate
  • Camps (Tetra Brazil etc)
  • Help promote programs within school district
  • Social media
  • Help organize Millikin night/College Info Night & other affiliated events
  • Build relationships with parents in all programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
  • Ability to respond to inquiries and requests received from the general public
  • Must provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
  • Use effective time management skills to complete the assigned job tasks
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, promoting positive work relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities to perform required work

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
  • High school student, high school graduate or G.E.D.
  • Minimum age of 17 is required
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education, experience and training
HOURS
  • Sunday through Saturday, varied hours based on the facility's hours of operation, events occurring with work hours designated by the Soccer Director
  • Overtime, as needed
  • Employee may work a combination of daytime, evening, split shift, weekend and holiday hours
Employee is considered to be on duty whenever the need exists
