This role is crucial in supporting our Store Manager through effective leadership, operational excellence, and community engagement.Pay Rate: $15.50/HourKey ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Staff Support
- Support training and supervision of store staff
- Assist with scheduling and payroll processing
- Help implement TSA policies and practices
- Document and provide information for personnel reviews
Store Operations
- Support strategies to meet production and sales goals
- Assist with donation processes, product sorting, and pricing
- Maintain store appearance and safety standards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army policies
Customer Experience
- Create an enjoyable shopping environment
- Implement customer retention plans
- Model excellent customer service
- Support positive community relations
Financial Management
- Assist with cash handling procedures and daily deposits
- Help keep income and expenses within budget
- Support inventory control and loss prevention
Communication & Teamwork
- Maintain open communication with Store Manager
- Support daily reporting and documentation
- Address customer inquiries and concerns
- Work proactively to improve The Salvation Army's image
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High School Diploma required (Associate's degree a plus)
- 2+ years retail experience (thrift experience appreciated)
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Proficiency in cash handling
- Computer literacy including POS systems
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends
- Strong English communication skills
Certifications
- Valid Driver's License required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, 100 pounds occasionally
- Standing, walking, and reaching throughout shift
- Manual dexterity and clear vision required
