We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and set the standard for comprehensive educational and family services in the preeminent Early Childhood setting. Our holistic approach prepares children for success in elementary school and in life by offering a seamless, age-appropriate curriculum that strengthens language, literacy, motor, social and emotional and cognitive development, as well as integrated Family Services. Our educational curriculum includes art, music, movement, swimming, farm-to-table meals and many other components from our multifaceted settlement house.We are currently seeking an Assistant Teacher to join our terrific team in the Early Education Center. This position will be hired for this school year through June 30, 2025, with possibility of permanent employment after. Reporting directly to and supervised by the Early Education Center Deputy Director, the Assistant Teacher will work daily 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.ResponsibilitiesWe have an opportunity for an outstanding candidate(s) who will have diverse responsibilities supporting classrooms in the Early Education Center. The Assistant Teacher will substitute for absences as well as provide daily support to classrooms. They will work in cooperation with classroom teaching staff creating the appropriate learning environment for preschool children in our Head Start program.Qualifications* High School Diploma, with a CDA (Child Development Assistant credential) or a Bachelor's degree* Experience working with children ages 3 - 6* Sound knowledge of child development* An ability to relate to children, staff and parents in a positive and constructive manner* Daily flexibility and an interest in working in multiple classrooms* Service oriented and committed to working in early childhood education* Spanish fluency a plusCompensation: $50,000 per year.
