Assistant Teacher at the Aaron School 309 E 45th St New York, NY 10017Join Aaron School, a private K-12 special education school dedicated to supporting students with learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, along with attention, sensory, and social challenges. Aaron combines rigorous academics with enrichment and therapeutic services in a safe, supportive environment, empowering each student to become a confident and successful learner.This position is for K-7 and has an anticipated start date of January 27, 2025.What we offer: •Compensation: Base salary ranging from $38,000.00 to $42,000.00, depending on education and experience.•Paid Time Off (PTO): Generous PTO and paid holidays. •Tuition Reimbursement: Financial support for continuing education.•Health & Wellness Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, along with Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) options.•Retirement Plan: 401(k) with company contributions.Job Responsibilities: •Participate in curriculum planning under the guidance and direction of Head Teacher.•Implement plans concerning the daily and weekly schedule of individual and group activities for the students.•Be knowledgeable about all school-wide academic programs used in school. •Prepare and teach reading and math groups; write narrative reports and complete report cards.•Submit lesson plans to Supervisor and meet weekly to review.•Establish classroom schedule, jobs, and meeting board.•Develop skills working with individual students, small groups, and the entire class.•Implement and reinforce classroom rules for behavior and procedure.•Interact, initiate, and encourage students in activities during the day to facilitate self-reliance, language, and social skills, andintellectual growth.•Work cooperatively with teaching team and entire staff. •Assist in record keeping, assessment, and daily attendance.•Attend parent conferences, team meetings, curriculum night, and professional development seminars.•Participate in pre and post observation with your supervisor and reflect on your teaching.Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in special education, education or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
