Job Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Montessori Primary Assistant. The Primary Assistant will work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher to create a supportive and engaging learning environment for children ages 3-6. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners while gaining valuable experience in the field of Montessori education.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Support: Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and maintaining a well-equipped Montessori classroom environment that fosters independence and exploration.Curriculum Implementation: Support the implementation of the Montessori curriculum by preparing materials, guiding children through activities, and facilitating hands-on learning experiences.Individualized Attention: Provide individualized support to students as they engage in self-directed learning activities, offering guidance and encouragement as needed.Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and orderly classroom atmosphere by modeling respectful behavior, implementing classroom routines, and addressing student needs effectively.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to ensure continuity in curriculum delivery, assessment of student progress, and communication with parents.Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of the Montessori philosophy and enhance teaching practices.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred).
- Childcare experience preferred.
- Montessori Assistant certification or willingness to pursue certification.
- Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting is desirable.
- Passion for working with children and a commitment to supporting their holistic development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards learning and growth.
