This full-time, Monday - Friday position will be housed at our YMCA Four Points Tomorrow Academy, located at 8300 N FM 620, Austin, TX 78726 and opening soon!How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary) Are you a passionate, caring, and creative individual who loves working with young children? We are looking for enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant Teachers to join our team and support our youngest learners in an infant, toddler, or preschool classroom. In this role, you will collaborate with our lead teachers to create a nurturing and engaging environment where children can explore, learn, and grow.   • Nurture Little Ones: Provide loving care for our littlest learners, ages 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) old to 5 years old, by establishing routines, ensuring they're groomed, fed, and diapered, while keeping them happy and secure.
  • Safety Steward: Keep our spaces safe, clean, and welcoming by tidying up classrooms, sanitizing toys, and ensuring everything is spotless for a day full of fun and learning.
  • Guide Learning: Lead children through engaging, research-based activities that help them grasp new ideas, understand complex concepts, and prepare for their next steps in education or care.
  • Family Connector: Build strong, dynamic relationships with families and staff, creating a warm and supportive community that fosters every child's growth and success.
  • Snack Time Specialist: Serve up nutritious snacks with care, following sanitation, USDA, and CCR guidelines, ensuring little ones are fueled for their day of discovery.
  • Confidence Builder: Focus on nurturing social-emotional development, helping children develop confidence, impulse control, and social skills that will last a lifetime.
  • Record Keeper: Maintain detailed and accurate records of each child's activities and progress, ensuring that every milestone is celebrated, and every need is met.
  • Safety Guardian: Protect the well-being of each child by adhering to Texas Child Care Regulation directives, ensuring a secure environment for all.
  • Security Enforcer: Uphold safety and security standards, creating a safe space for children, staff and families alike, where everyone feels protected and cared for.
  • Team Learner: Actively participate in staff development and team meetings, continuously improving your skills and contributing to the team's collective success.

What You Bring to the Community Enterprise Education & Experience
  • Required Qualifications:
    • a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or an equivalent state-recognized qualification or willingness to become CDA credentialed within the first year of employment.
    • High School graduate or GED equivalent and 18 years of age or older.
    • Relevant experience with young children.
    • Experience working with young children.
    • Have or be willing to obtain CPR/first aid certification, a criminal background check, and a food handler's license.
    • Availability: You have the availability to work Monday - Friday with a flexible schedule.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Knowledge or experience with emergent curriculum and best practices in early learning.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
