Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Tour Coordinator works closely with the Tour Coordinator to plan, organize and coordinate all prospective student visits with the Admissions Office. Serves as office liaison to faculty, department chairs and recruiting staff in all colleges, Honors Program, recognized student organizations, high school guidance counselors, and community colleges. Assimilates data and information for personalized campus tours, often times involving decisions with campus personnel as well as time and location scheduling and appointments for prospective students to meet their individual needs and requests extensive knowledge of the U of A, Fayetteville and the NWA area is imperative when scheduling visits with prospective students. Provides assistance to the colleges to coordinate recruitment and special events.

This position is responsible for greeting and directing visitors, screening calls, and providing them with a visit itinerary, when needed.

This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

* At least three years of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

* At least one year of customer service experience

* Demonstrated knowledge of the University of Arkansas campus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Knowledge of record keeping procedures

* Knowledge of work-related subject area

* Knowledge of computers and software applications

* Ability to conduct research and compile data into report form

* Ability to establish and maintain filing systems

* Ability to operate standard office equipment

* Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

* Ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures

* Ability to balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a changing work environment
