ASSISTANT TRACK AND FIELD COACH

Overview:Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking an individual to fill the role of Assistant Coach for the co-ed Track and Field team for the upcoming Spring 2025 season. Experience in a high school coaching role or club setting is preferred. Experience with throwing shot put or discus preferred but not necessary. This is a stipend position that is based on experience in coaching and years involved in the sport. The Assistant Coach must be able to pass a background check, pass a CPR/AED basic life saving course and possess a valid Illinois drivers license to be able to drive any of the IMSA vehicles, which include up to a 14 passenger mini-bus. (no additional tests or endorsements are needed to operate these vehicles) Any potential candidate must have or be willing to obtain either of the following requirements as per IHSA By-Laws:(1) Possess a completion certificate of an approved IHSA coaching course. (ASEP) humankinetics.com/products/ihsa-coaching-education-online-course-package-with-ebooks (2) Currently, have a valid Teaching, School Administrator, Substitute Teaching, School Psychologist, School counselor, School Social Worker Certificate or be retired from teaching to meet the IHSA By-Law for coaching.
