Insurance is a serious business, and we pride ourselves on making people's lives whole again after a major disaster or even a fender bender.It's that sense of helping people that makes our team want to do our best every day.If you want to be excited about starting your workday and are ready to make a real difference in people's lives, this could be the right spot for you.See what Pekin Insurance has to offer by viewing a short video here.Position OverviewThe AVP- Broker Sales is responsible for building and maintaining effective business relationships with distribution partners (IMO, BGA, MGA, etc.) in the distribution territory (currently 14 states) and marketing our life insurance products to their downline agents.Essential Job FunctionsMakes systematic calls on distribution partners (IMO, BGA, MGA, etc) to maintain effective business relationshipsResponsible for managing the onboarding process for newly appointed downline agents, ensuring they are trained on company philosophy, products and methods of doing businessMakes regular calls on downline agents to provide ongoing education for company products and practices, and to aid the agent in sales, including navigating the underwriting processResponsible for sales production for the distribution channelResponsible for monitoring distribution partner, agency, and individual agent performance to ensure production and other business metric expectations are metMonitors distribution channel landscape and report on matters relating to the company's competitiveness, such as product change needs, service, and operational change needsProvides input regarding strategic planning as it pertains to the distribution channel, including assisting with the creation of marketing strategies to support sales goalsAttends and participates in periodic sales and educational meetings for agency force. These meetings should be a means of communication between the Pekin Home Office and field, promotes sales, and educates agency force of new products and any industry trendsAssists and trains agencies in using the company intranet website and life illustration softwareMaintains an Agency Call Report through the internet.Reporting dates, times and what was discussed on each monthly agency callAttends periodic meetings at the Pekin Home Office as requestedTravels to distribution partner locations throughout the 14-state distribution territory will be required as needed, typically 12-24 times per yearMonitors distribution channel growth, growing a team of field support as deemed appropriate by leadership as the channel meets maturity targetsPerforms other duties as assigned Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business or related field requiredTypically requires 7+ years of industry experience, specifically in sales in the assigned territoryCertifications & LicensesLife Insurance Producers license, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFc) or FCP designations preferredKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesIn-depth skill in:listening and communicating with the ability to speak in publicIn-depth ability to:maintain a positive image and build strong relationshipsanalyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlinesanticipate/recognize opportunities and problemsestablish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan#LI-SB1
