Assistant Vice President-Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning**POSITION DETAILS**The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is a vibrant, pluralistic learning community committed to students' intellectual and personal growth. We strive to increase degree completion, successful transfer, career achievement, and service and leadership within our community, New York City, and beyond.Reporting to the President, the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning, is responsible for organizing and directing operations involved in the review, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of a variety of data and information used in assessing institutional effectiveness, assisting with college's strategic planning, accreditation, decision-making, program reviews, student learning outcomes, and determining implications of college practices, policies, measures, and procedures.Serving as a member of the President's cabinet, this position provides information and direction in understanding and improving student outcomes, success and ultimately recommending methods of continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:+ Provides innovative and professional leadership in the planning, development, promotion, and implementation of an integrated institutional effectiveness system aimed at refining programs and services.+ Provides leadership and guidance for the analytic and reporting needs of the college including mandatory federal, state, city and CUNY reports, ad-hoc requests, grant applications and major projects.+ Works collaboratively across the College with vice presidents, deans, directors of institutional units, and faculty to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive program of assessment designed to meet the continuous improvement goals of the College, the standards of relevant accreditation agencies, general institutional effectiveness and measurements of student success and learning.+ Serves as authorized liaison officer (ALO) for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), and keep abreast of developments that may affect accreditation by attending conferences and serving in appropriate roles with MSCHE (e.g., as a peer evaluator)+ Engages in a broad range of research and reporting activities, including oversight of routine and ad hoc data collection, data analysis, and data reporting for both internal and external audiences.+ Works collaboratively with deans and department chairs on the evaluation and implementation of departmental academic program reviews and on the assessment of student learning.+ Implements policies and procedures related to the college's institutional effectiveness processes.+ Publishes summaries of survey responses in the assessment of educational and employee effectiveness.+ Coordinates and oversees the strategic planning process for the college and advises the college administration on progress in relation to the college's strategic planning.+ Represents the college at meetings regarding institutional effectiveness matters.+ Oversees the office of Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning in conducting a wide variety of quantitative analysis to guide policy and evaluating academic programs and administrative processes at the college.+ Other duties as assigned.**QUALIFICATIONS**This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience. Master's degree in related field preferred.Preferred qualifications:+ Doctoral degree in Social Sciences, Education, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field strongly preferred.+ Five to eight years of experience in data analysis, statistics, qualitative and quantitative research design, and/or program evaluation in higher education+ Understanding and familiarity of best practice, center of excellence models that generate significant improvements in student outcomes, especially among a diverse student population that has historically been under resourced.+ Significant experience and accomplishment with strategic planning, including plan implementation and evaluation of programs that effectively promote student retention and success.+ Demonstrated knowledge in methodologies of evaluation, assessment, survey research, statistics, and data analysis.+ Expertise with assessment tools and techniques, survey research methods, statistical and database management software packages, and the dynamics of strategic planning and accreditation.+ Proven understanding of innovative techniques of data management and analysis across a complex organization and success bringing innovative pilot projects to scale.+ Strong data analytics, project management, communication skills, creative thinking, and the ability to work with complex computer information systems are essential.+ Ability to direct the development and implementation of effectiveness and outcome measures and techniques.**CUNY TITLE**Assistant Vice President**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**$ 150,000 - $ 162,000CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
