Our client, one of the world's largest alternative asset management firms, is seeking an AVP to support the real estate finance and analytics team.

Job Title: Real Estate Finance & Analytics, AVP

The Real Estate Finance & Analytics team is seeking an AVP to evaluate, analyze, and summarize portfolio investment valuation results for the fund. In addition to valuations, the team is responsible for performance and attribution reporting for internal and external purposes and the forecasting and planning for +350 investments. The team is also called upon to handle a variety of ad hoc and recurring analyses related to fundraising, reporting, and global investor relations.

Valuations

  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the team including, but not limited to, deliverable tracking, valuation model reviews, presentation to senior leaders, and completion of ad-hoc deliverables
  • Manage the creation and development of presentation materials to effectively communicate results within RE.
  • Assist in the presentation of valuation results to various internal committees, external auditors, and limited partners
  • Work closely with RE Portfolio Management and Asset Management to provide inputs as well as other portfolio investment information to aid in the completion of planning deliverables
  • Maintain relationships with core constituencies including, deal professionals, Institutional Client Services, Portfolio Management, Accounting, and Operations
  • Drive enhancements and improvements to the group's valuations and reporting processes, procedures, offshore resources, and use of technology
  • Assist in the on-going training and development of analysts and associates
  • This is designed to be a role involving mentorship with trajectory toward greater managerial responsibilities based on performance

Internal and External Reporting

  • Partner with Institutional Client Services and Portfolio Management to support the creation of quarterly and ad-hoc investor reporting
  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance in conjunction with SEC quarterly filings and ad-hoc deliverable for Senior Management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA and/or CPA a plus)
  • 7+ years of experience in valuations, transaction services, a private equity fund, consulting, or other relevant analytical roles
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires execution of recurring deliverables as well as projects and initiatives in support of a rapidly growing business
  • Thorough understanding of ASC 820 and corresponding valuation guidance. Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market, Yield Analysis, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high EQ, and the ability to confidently and competently handle interactions with deal professionals, Asset Management, and portfolio company representatives
  • A self-motivated individual with strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Confidence presenting to large groups of senior leaders (e.g. Firmwide Valuation Committee, Board of Directors)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint is required
  • Proficiency in iLevel a plus
  • Experience managing a team of at least 3 individuals a plus
