* Ensures employee adherence to H/R policies that support the organizational strategy and promote a positive work environment and culture within the organization.
* Works in partnership with Employment Legal Counsel to provide input regarding risk mitigation developing options and recommendations on appropriate course of actions in different business situations.
* Assists H/R leadership and in the development of short- and long-term strategies for the Americas platform.

Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Junior Employee Relations professional to join the Human Resources department's Employee Relations team working in the Jersey City office. Reporting to the Director - Head of Employee Relations, the Junior Employee Relations Specialist will:
* Provides support, and resolution to managers, H/R BPs, and H/R Centers of Excellence (COEs) on a broad range of escalated employment issues including H/R policy interpretation, performance management, H/R investigations, employee discipline and misconduct, remediation of employment-related disputes, and employee terminations.
* Coordinates reductions-in-force, including working with the business to assess their future needs and structure, works with employment legal counsel to vet decisions and assess legal risk, generates agreements, prepares managers for termination meetings, and works with H/R BPs to coordinate termination day logistics.
* Responsible for preparation of due-diligence, agreements and letters related to H/R Involuntary Terminations
* Responsible for downstream operational actions following H/R Involuntary Terminations including entering data into systems, notifying IT and support teams, reporting to H/R Finance, as well as, obtaining agreement signatures.
* Supports managers as necessary with conversations relating to discipline, performance management, termination, and related topics.
* Partner with managers to execute mid-year / year end appraisal reviews that require ER support as well as drafting Performance Improvement Plans
* Supports ER Specialists in conducting internal investigations into employee allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, threats, violations of H/R policies and other employment / legal matters.
* Supports ER Specialist in the preparation of investigation outlines, investigative reports, notes, and other supporting documentation, all while maintaining the strictest confidentiality and professionalism.
* Assists and participates in conducting disciplinary meetings, warnings, and related documentation.
* Engages in cooperative dialog with employees dealing with medical issues and/or requesting medical accommodations.
* Assists ER Specialists and Employment Legal in preparing materials for, scheduling and delivering trainings related to ER/Employment Legal topics.
* Track, monitor, and manage employee relations issues (RIF, Separations, Performance Terminations, Medical Accommodations, ER Issues...etc.) and generates quarterly and ad hoc reports based on data tracked.
* Supports Employment Legal in ensuring compliance with new and updated employment law/regulations.
* Works with the H/R Operations team to review and assist with the ongoing development, evaluation, and maintenance of documentation (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Group Policies, OPC Controls) to ensure compliance.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, & experience
* At least 3 years of employee relations and/or Human Resources experience
* Strong organizational skills
* Demonstrated proficiency in creating and generating metrics-based statistical reports.
* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint

* ER/HR experience within a financial service organization.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $95k to $125k annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
