We're bringing together the people, ideas and capital that nurture progress and growth, helping to create a better world - for our customers, our people, our investors, our communities and the planet we all share.The AVP Risk And Compliance Assurance act as an independent Second Line of Defence (2LOD) function that undertakes risk-based monitoring and testing of processes and outcomes of First Line of Defence (1LOD) Compliance activities to provide assurance that the business is operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, principles, and HSBC Group standards and policies and to ensure that HSBC maintains effective compliance controls. They also perform deep-dive and thematic reviews on issues, opportunities and/or strategic change.As our Asisstant Vice President Risk and Compliance Assurance you will:
  • To use regulatory and testing knowledge to assess compliance controls implemented by the businesses. Ability to understand compliance risks present in retail brokerage business in addition to institutional brokerage, and investment banking is required
  • To work effectively in a team setting to assist in the planning and execution of assigned reviews
  • To this end, the team utilizes repeatable branch inspection methodology to complete remote and in person required visits of branch office locations on a periodic basis
  • To perform testing, as directed by CA management, and assists in the reporting of related results designed to assist HNAH Compliance in identifying deficiencies and other issues impacting compliance controls, meanwhile managing the review to completion within defined timeframes
  • To Help align the function to the Non-Financial Risk Management framework by conducting risk-based reviews
  • To assist Business and Compliance Management in determining the effectiveness of their compliance control environment and provides line of sight for compliance management into regulatory issues
  • To interact effectively with internal stakeholders to achieve CA and organizational objectives by utilizing the CA testing methodology and by applying required knowledge and skills
  • To draft assigned portions of review reports in accordance with the CA methodology and reporting protocol regarding first line of defense assurance. Reports are written based on a risk framework and reported based on specific evidence gathered from testing
  • To maintain appropriate focus on own self-development. In conjunction with Team Manager, identifies and participates in approved developmental training
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $8 a wide range of competitive and flexible benefits designed to help you improve your health and well-being, finances, and lifestyle.6,700.00 and $140,000.00The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location. Additionally, HSBC offers Requirements You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
  • Basic working knowledge or experience with the capital markets rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of banking and security businesses, products, operations, systems and organization
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the businesses
  • Swap Dealer and/or Broker Dealer compliance control testing experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, analytical, organizational, project management and planning skills
  • Minimum of thress to five years proven and progressive financial services audit, operations, and/or compliance experience or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent experience.
