Job Summary
* Instruct and train individual and team defense, passing and assist in other areas of training (the ability to train setters is preferred) and practices within the Radford system as designated by the head coach
* Responsible for scouting activities & match preparation. Prepare video breakdown and analysis for player development and scouting.
* Responsible for in-match and game day management, as well as visiting team management.
* Knowledge of both PC and MAC operating systems, as well as experience & familiarity and proficiency using volleyball-specific technology, including Data Volley, VolleyMetrics, and/or other data analytic programs.
* Assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
* Assist with the recruitment and coordination of prospective volleyball student-athletes including email and phone correspondence, player evaluation, in-state and out of state travel, and coordination of campus visits.
* Collaborate with the Strength & Conditioning Staff in accordance with the development of training regimen for student-athletes.
* Assist with the administration of summer camps and clinics, and general administration of the women's volleyball program.
* Responsible for in-match and game day management, as well as visiting team management.
* Assist with compliance software. Monitor Recruiting and CARA logs.
* Assist with overseeing the academic progress and success of student-athletes including promoting and maintaining an environment that encourages academic achievement as measured by academic eligibility, retention, and graduation.
* Actively participates in fundraising, promotional, and public relation activities for the sports program.
* Maintain collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches in the department, other college offices, and appropriate relationships with members of the media, donors, and other individuals interested in the sports program
* Assist with social media for volleyball program, when applicable.
* Maintain a work schedule (administrative availability, practices and games).
* Other coaching & instructional duties as assigned by Head Coach
* The position will be responsible for always presenting the volleyball program in a positive manner to the public, the University community, the team, and potential recruits.
Required Qualifications
* Advanced degree, or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree
* Minimum two years coaching experience at the collegiate or professional level.
* Demonstrated organizational skills.
* Demonstrated strong interpersonal , written, and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to manage new projects.
* Demonstrated leadership skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
* Demonstrated ability to adhere to the University, NCAA, and Big South Conference rules and regulations.
* Ability to work independently without direct supervision
* Experience with all phases of recruiting including travel, both in-state and out-of-state, for purposes of evaluating and contacting recruits.
* Experience assisting with all activities related to on- campus summer camps including but not limited to organizing and implementing schedules, housing, meals, and staffing of camps for several different age groups and abilities.

* Experience coaching and/or playing at the collegiate level
* Ability to understand and work effectively in a multi-cultural environment
* Ability to adjust and accommodate to differing techniques in a diverse and positive learning environment.
* An ability to draw upon coaching / playing experience and contribute to technical training as well as in match tactical adjustments.
* Experience with scouting, film, and processing data. Experience with excel sheets, pivot tables, and excel sheet data.
