GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to assist with the operation of a growing appliance distribution warehouse to include shipping, receiving, quality assurance, security, product handling and storage.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

Oversees the daily warehouse operation in shipping / receiving and the utilization of employees in accordance with established policies and procedures. Coordinates supervisory directives and employee assignments with warehouse

Oversees the daily shipping operation and loading of trailers for shipment of goods to the dealers. Assures that trucks are loaded properly, and manifests are complete

In the event that the Manager is out, the Assistant Manager will take on his/her responsibilities.

Ensure that all inventory transactions are properly documented in accordance with standard operating procedures.

• Possess thorough knowledge of warehouse inventory.
• Conduct complete inventories as well as weekly cycle counts
• Addresses routine employee complaints resolves problems and disputes
• Practice safe warehouse procedures, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements to standard procedures.

Possess basic computer skills with the ability to use typical office programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

General knowledge of warehouse and inventory practices; ability to count and inspect a variety of merchandise accurately and thoroughly; ability to operate forklift and common storehouse/warehouse equipment; computer knowledge as it pertains to inventory, receiving, and distribution; ability to handle and oversee multiple tasks effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to follow oral and written instructions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma. Minimum 5 years warehouse experience. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
