Job Description:
*SHIFT: 12:30pm - 9:30pm* General Summary:Supervises the central warehouse operations and enforces all warehouse protocols for the corporation by taking an active, hands-on role within the department.Essential Job Functions:
  • Manages the personnel and day-to-day functions of the warehouse including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, quality control, shipping, logistics, transportation, delivery, inventory control, and cycle counting.
  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.
  • Encourages team building and helps raise department morale.
  • Become knowledgeable in all functions of the warehouse including any technology that is in place.
  • Manage the training of warehouse team members across multiple functions of the warehouse.
  • Enforces compliance for ISO-9001 quality standards and OSHA safety standards.
  • Assists with creating procedures and processes that clearly define the workflow and tasks required to fulfill department objectives and ensures optimum levels of customer service and on-time shipping goals are met.
  • Ensures warehouse area, equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and kept clean.
  • Responsible for monitoring attendance and punctuality of team including reconciliation of timecards for each pay period.
  • Measures, reports, and utilizes monthly department KPIs.
  • Assists with preparing and executing the department business plan and initiatives to improve department performance and company viability.
  • Address any presented issues or concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Assists with annual team member reviews.
  • Assists with evaluation and hiring process of potential candidates.
  • Manage disciplinary situations when necessary.
Supplemental Job Functions:
  • Responsible for supporting and driving the vision and long-term strategy for area of responsibility and makes recommendations to meet the corporate objectives.
  • Maintains relationships with other department management to ensure teams are aligned and working towards corporate goals.
  • Train and enforce policies, rules and/or procedures of the corporation to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.
  • Responsible for understanding and directing activities that support the Company Quality Manual, Associate Manual, Mission Statement and any other policy or directive of the corporation.
  • Identifies, recommends, and pursues professional skills and educational development opportunities for self and staff.
  • Building opening and closing procedures when necessary.
  • First aid training that includes CPR, bloodborne pathogens and AED.
  • Maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three (3) years' progressive work experience in Warehousing (prefer distribution).
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to bend/lift and/or carry weight to industry standards.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience driving and operating a hi-lo.
  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.
  • Functional knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office programs, Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and Transportation Management Systems.
  • Functional knowledge of conveyors, carousel storage and handheld radio frequency equipment.
  • Advanced analytical skills needed to identify root causes of problems, generate alternatives, draw logical conclusions, and decide on appropriate course of action after careful examination of relevant information and consideration of critical business issues.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team including demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills required to provide full support of the company initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Company Safety Policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensuring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all associates during shift times.
Working Conditions:
  • Normal industrial distribution environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies.
  • Physical dexterity to bend, stretch, lift, and reach.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extensive periods throughout the day.
  • Ability to perform basic office tasks using standard office equipment.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer.
