This is an in-office position and a 9-hour shift Monday to Friday but applicants must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as news arises.Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Commissioning news features to run on weekends
- Coming up with original ideas and guiding reporters in the field
- Editing feature content on a wide array of topics from news to celebrity and sport
- Editing under tight deadlines
- Restructuring articles
- Researching article ideas
- Working with photo editors to create images to illustrate articles
- Building articles in a content management system
We are seeking professionals with the following experience:
- At least 5 years working as an editor at a newspaper, news website or magazine
- Understanding of the DailyMail.com brand, editorial voice and audience
- Knowledge of online research tools
Dailymail.com operates a 24/7 newsroom, and all shifts are expected to be worked from the office.
