Summary: The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting the head coach in the recruitment and retention of a full competitive roster. Follows all Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD), Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations in administering the program. Supports the development of the student athletes. Assist with the coordination of travel, game schedule, recruiting, inventory and maintenance of equipment. Assist with fame management duties.
Job Duties:
* Assists Head Coach in providing an environment for successful recruitment and retention of student athletes. Supports the development of student athletes' success in the classroom and in their respective sport. Coordinates travel, game schedule and game management.
* Provides for program needs within allocated budget, including inventory of all equipment and uniforms. Assists with maintenance of team and college equipment. Develops on and off campus relationships that support the success of the position. Assists with program and department fundraising.
* Assures compliance with all IVCCD, ICCAC and NJCAA rules and regulations.
* Provide game day management duties and drive teams to sporting events as needed for all athletic programs.
* Assis Housing Department as needed.
* Attends all IVCCD and ICCAC meetings as required.
Education and Experience: Associate's degree required; Bachelors preferred. College coaching and scholarship management preferred.
Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to a diverse population of students. Knowledge and ability to organize multiple priorities and job duties. Knowledge of general office procedures and protocols.
