Assistant in Extension, Program Support Coordinator Posting Number req21433 Department Agric Extension Administration Department Website Link Location Main Campus Address 1140 E South Campus Dr., Forbes Bldg, Tucson, AZ 85719 USA Position Highlights The Assistant in Extension position will support the extension outreach and programming related to the key Family, Consumer and Health Sciences (FCHS) priority areas of access to healthy food, family health and well-being, mental health and stress management, and community vitality. This position will work closely with the Associate Director for Cooperative Extension to provide administrative and program support, including contributing to systems for program design, development and evaluation. The successful candidate will be team-oriented and self-motivated to work independently when required.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Program Support:

* Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and other systems to support FCHS

programming and program development.

* Ensure project goals and major tasks are effectively planned and executed on schedule.

* Read and synthesize up-to-date scholarly research in topics related to FCHS program areas.

* Prepare periodic reports with Associate director input on FCHS activities, status, progress, outcomes, and impacts, and other special reports.

* Prepare FCHS program-relared documents with Associate Director input to include research reports, grant proposals, webinars, presentations.

* Support establishing and sustaining strong relationships with internal and external partners.

* Supervise 1-2 undergraduate student workers

2. Volunteer Development and Management

* Work with Associate Director to develop a successful volunteer program to include recruiting strategies, retention strategies, and maintaining required records for the statewide FCHS volunteer development program.

* Work with UACE faculty, staff and Volunteer Coordinator to develop FCHS-specific policies for identifying, selecting, orienting, training, utilizing, recognizing, and evaluating volunteers.

3. Administrative Support:

* Prepare meeting agendas and manage meeting logistics.

* Assist with the preparation of project budgets, tracking of stipends and spending for FCHS program area.

* Manage project supplies.

* Manage the logistics and detailed timelines of projects as assigned

* Plan, coordinate and organize events such as speakers, orientations, trainings, and workshops for county and campus-based faculty, students, and community partners.

4. Communications:

* Develop/write/compile and distribute communications about FCHS

programs and program impacts including newsletters, flyers, brochures, and social media materials

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Excellent organizational and planning skills with high attention to detail.

* Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with a variety of audiences.

* Excellent time management skills, with ability to multi?task effectively to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

* Knowledge of social and behavioral applied research and evaluation.

* Knowledge of community engagement principles.

* Basic knowledge of budgeting and accounting procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Family Science, Public Health, Psychology, Education or related field or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

* Minimum of three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in community-based programming and outreach

* Experience with program planning and evaluation

* Experience with volunteer management and development

* Experience in writing newsletters, research summaries, or reports

* Experience with grant writing

* Experience with online survey development (e.g., Qualtrics)

* Experience with UAIR Enterprise Data

* Bilingual, English & Spanish
