Overview: RiverWoods Durham is currently seeking a full time Assisted Living Engagement Coordinator to join the Life Engagement team! The Assisted Living Engagement Coordinator supports the day-to-day activity operations of the Assisted Living within Newfound Lodge, to ensure the maximum levels of resident engagement, wellness, and satisfaction is met. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8 am- 4pm, but some flexibility may be needed to be able to work evenings at times; there is also a required one weekend a month and rotating holiday schedule.   • Provide person-centered programs while engaging residents in meaningful and purposeful programs within the community, enhancing their quality of life.
  • Plan, coordinate, create a calendar of assisted living programs that meet specific needs of each and all residents. Act as point of contact for all volunteers or outside entertainment vendors for events hosted within assisted living. Schedule and plan transportation for both group events or trips for assisted living residents, ensuring safe and timely travel arrangements.
  • Complete resident and family announcements/flyers, event orders, and room bookings.
  • Maintain one-on-one engagement schedule/calendar for all assisted living residents to ensure the Life Engagement Partners are providing consistent and regular visits with each resident as applicable.
  • Coordinate with the Life Engagement Partners to ensure all residents are given the opportunity to participate in programming. Encourage and motivate residents to attend and participate in programming and activities. Assist Life Engagement Partners on the floor as needed with escorting residents to/from events and providing support for activities.
  • Complete activity interviews, shadow boxes, nametags, and resident portal logins for all new residents and transitional moves. Ensure loved ones and residents are oriented to the community.
  • Prepare and participate in care conferences for all assisted living residents. Demonstrate knowledge about residents regarding background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity, and attention span capability.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information, report complaints and grievances made by the resident, and make a written report to the Supportive Living Administrator or Nurse on duty, and your Community Life Engagement Manager indicating the incident or situation.
  • Communicate any changes noted in the resident's condition or behavior pattern to a member of the Health Services leadership team. and document in medical records database.
  • Maintain and provide ongoing training and support to Life Engagement Partners for all assisted living programming or engagement tools such as IN2L, Mobii, etc.
  • Develop and maintain activity baskets with tools to support staff and visitors outside of the team hours of operation.
  • Coordinate with Community Life Engagement Manager list of supplies and seasonal decor needed for activity related projects.
  • Responsible for decorating Supportive Living seasonally or for holidays, ensuring updates are made to reflect the current season or celebration.
  • Provide weekly updates for resident newsletters, maintain all department bulletin boards and communication channels.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess a minimum, High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in healthcare or related field preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs: publisher, word, outlook, and excel a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of photographic, audio/visual and computer equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be willing to obtain Dementia-related certification
