We are seeking an Associate Director for the Research and Pre-Clinical Development (R&pD) Lab Consumables team, specifically responsible for the Bioreagents subcategory creation, management, and execution. This role involves developing and leading strategies for our subcategories, as well as leading and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives. This role will coordinate the development of sourcing specifications, requirements, and scopes of work for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs. They will gather and assess data through benchmarking, market intelligence reports, and Voice of the Customer (VoC) interviews, and perform analytics on spend, inventory levels, utilization, and KPI measurements. Additionally, delivering measurable cost savings for their category of spend. They will actively participate in supplier selection and relationship management, providing data-driven recommendations to management for informed decision-making. This role manages risk, develops strong business continuity plans (BCPs), and handles direct supplier relationship management with Tier I suppliers. They will work collaboratively with teammates and cross-functional partners across all Regeneron campuses and departments, including partnering closely with the Associate Director of Lab Supplies. This individual must be an experienced leader with significant procurement experience and will be responsible for the professional development of junior team members. We are looking for a proactive and collaborative individual who can effectively manage supplier relationships, mitigate risks, ensure business continuity, and contribute to the success and development of our team.

A typical day might include:

• Defining and implementing the global Lab Consumables Category strategy to serve global and regional business needs.
• Working closely with partners to lead discussions related to the Lab Consumables Categories and align category priorities with Procurement management and partners.
• Work with leadership to drive value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth and evolution of the Global Procurement organization and leverages this knowledge to drive improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities.
• Either directly or through a matrix structure, develop team of professional level employees responsible for performing category management tasks (if applicable.)

This role might be for you if you have:

• Experience demonstrating success running cross-functional teams to get results in the Lab Consumables category or related categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management.
• Insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and costing structures to enable optimal negotiations.
• Used external data sources, market information, and supplier engagement to constantly improve knowledge of supply market dynamics.
• Demonstrated success managing the global supply market evaluation process using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools.
• Experience leading and guiding associate level professionals in a multi-national firm including writing performance reviews, setting annual objectives, coaching, and developing direct reports is preferred.
• Working knowledge with sourcing contracting tools, ERPs, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, Ariba, Other)
• Working knowledge and hands on experience supporting sourcing platform technologies preferred (LabViva, Zageno, ScienceExhange, Scientist.com, others)
• Ability to use data analytics, automation and visualization tools to drive insights and communicate to partners and senior leadership (PowerBI, Tableau, Power Automate)
• Demonstrate success and experience with cost models and total cost of ownership models
• Management and implementation of inventory management programs including technology solutions (RFID, QR codes, others), consignment programs, VMI solutions, single use materials, bio-reagents and media etc.
• This role requires working onsite a minimum of 3 days per week

To be considered for this position, we require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study plus relevant, progressive experience in procurement, including experience in Pharma/BioPharma. A successful candidate must also have experience successfully leading global category processes, and suppliers across a breadth of categories

Salary Range (annually)

$154,800.00 - $252,800.00
